Mastering Implantology

 

Starting: 1st-2nd-3rd & 4th July, 06.

This comprehensive course in implantology aims to impart an in-depth knowledge of the surgical and prosthodontic aspects of the science of implants, so that the participants can incorporate the same in their day to day clinical practice. The teaching modules will include lectures, hands-on on dummy mandibles, live surgical demonstrations and loading protocols in a stepwise manner. The participants are encouraged to bring their own patients for insertion and loading of the implants. The participant has a cafeteria choice as the instructor does not stress on any particular implant system.

  12. Treatment planning for completely and partially edentulous patients.

  13. Second stage surgery & procedures.

  14. Esthetic treatment planning with implant prosthesis.

  15. Hard and soft tissue defects.

  16. Ridge preservation and various techniques.

  17. Immediate placement os implants after extraction and its considerations.

  18. Bone grafts- different materials and their manipulations.

  19. Bone harvesting technoques from chin, ramus and tuberosity.

  20. Major bone harvesting.

  21. Guided tissue regenaration.

  22. Sinus lift procedures.

  23. Nerve lateralization procedures.

  24. Soft tissue build-ups.

  25. Other implant systems.

  26. Provisionalization for implant cases, materials and techniques.

  27. Transitional implants.

  28. Impression procedures and master cast fabrication.

  29. Interocclusal records making.

  30. Occlusal schemes for implant restorations.

  31. Articulators and record transfers.

  32. Trials and adjustments.

  33. Definite placement of abutment and final restorations.

  34. Post-prosthetic care and hygiene maintenance, hygiene instruments.

  35. Periodic appraisals for hard and soft tissues, mobility.

  36. Identifying and management of failing implants.

  37. Implant supported overdentures

  38. Fixed implant options for completely edentulous patients.

  39. Newer advances in implant dentistry like computer designed stents and surgical procedures (implant in an hour concepts).

Surgical procedures:

  1. Understanding the implant surgical instrumentations and equipments and their handling.

  2. Surgical protocols including asepsis, medications and anaesthesia.

  3. Stepwise surgical placement of implants.

  4. Post surgical care, complications and management.

 

Course Duration:

3 Modules of 4 days each, every alternate month over 6 Months.
